UCSI Year 2008 Scholarship Award Information

UCSI offers various scholarship awards every year to deserving students. Internally, UCSI offers UCSI scholarship and A-Levels scholarship. UCSI also contributes scholarship to some education funds namely the Star Education Fund, Sin Chew Daily Scholarship Awards, Nanyang Tertiary Education Scholarship and MAPCU Scholarship.

Tan Sri Ahmad Razali Merit Scholarship Awards 2007

The Tan Sri Ahmad Razali Merit Scholarship Awards is offered to deserving students with outstanding academic achievements and participation in extra-curricular activities. The objective of these scholarship awards is to provide students with the opportunity to experience quality education at UCSI.

Eligible students can apply to any of the UCSI diploma/degree programmes below (except for Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing  & 3D Animation, Architectural Technology and Interior Technology):

Biotechnology, Food Science & Nutrition, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Communication & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting & Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Logistics Management, Computing, Business Information Systems, Mass Communication, Psychology, English Language & Communication, Music and A-Levels.

A. Full Scholarship
To be eligible for the Full Scholarship, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
1. Must register at UCSI and fulfill admission requirements
2. Must be Malaysian and a full-time student
3. Possess minimum academic requirements as below:
bullet SPM - Minimum 10A1s for relevant subjects, including English
bullet UEC - Minimum 8A1s for relevant subjects, including English
bullet A-Levels - Minimum 3As for relevant subjects (excluding General Paper)
bullet STPM - Minimum 4As for relevant subjects (excluding Pengajian Am)
bullet SAM - > 90% (aggregate)
bullet CPU - > 90% (aggregate)
bullet For Music Scholarship: Minimum grade 7 in both theory and practical in music and pass the audition
4. Other Terms & Conditions:
bullet Active in extra-curricular activities
bullet Must not be bonded to or be a recipient of any financial aid or rewards from other educational institutions or organisations
bullet All scholarship awards are limited to tuition fees only
bullet The recipient must help in the Student Affairs Office for not more than 5 hours per week
bullet Successful applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or 65% per subject per semester
bullet Eligible candidates must fill up the TSAR Merit Scholarship Form and attach certified copies of their results and other relevant documents
bullet The scholarship will be awarded based on actual results
Closing date: Completed applications must reach UCSI by 31 March 2008
B. Partial Scholarship
To be eligible for the Partial Scholarship, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
1. Must register at UCSI and fulfill admission requirements
2. Must be Malaysian and a full-time student
3. Possess minimum academic requirements as below:
bullet SPM - Minimum 7A1s for relevant subjects, an A2 for English
bullet UEC - Minimum 4A1s for relevant subjects, including English
bullet A-Levels - Minimum 2As and 1B for relevant subjects (excluding General Paper)
bullet STPM - Minimum 3As for relevant subjects (excluding Pengajian Am)
bullet SAM - > 85% (aggregate)
bullet CPU - > 85% (aggregate)
bullet For Music Scholarship: Minimum grade 7 in both theory and practical in music and pass the audition
4. Other Terms & Conditions:
bullet Active in extra-curricular activities
bullet Must not be bonded to or be a recipient of any financial aid or rewards from other educational institutions or organisations

C. Merit Scholarship for A-Levels
To be eligible for the A-Levels Merit Scholarship, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
1. Must register at UCSI and fulfill admission requirements
2. Must be Malaysian and a full-time student
3. Possess SPM 2006 academic results as below:

4. Other Terms & Conditions:
bullet Active in extra-curricular activities
bullet Must not be bonded to or be a recipient of any financial aid or rewards from other educational institutions or organisations
bullet All scholarship awards are limited to tuition fees only w.e.f. April 2007 intake onwards
bullet Students who have enrolled into A-Levels with forecast results, and later obtained 10A1s or 9A1s in the actual results, the remainder of the scholarship amount not consumed within the A-Levels programme can and will be credited to the students' account for subsequent degree programme in UCSI
bullet The recipient must help in the Student Affairs Office for not more than 5 hours per week
bullet Successful applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or 65% per subject per semester
bullet Eligible candidates must fill up the TSAR Merit Scholarship Form and attach certified copies of their results and other relevant documents
bullet The scholarship will be awarded based on actual results
Closing date: Completed applications must reach UCSI by 25 January 2008 (Jan intake), 09 May 2008 (May intake), 25 July 2008 (July intake)


2. UCSI Scholarship (Internal)

This partial scholarship is available to students with outstanding academic achievements through examinations and participation in extra-curricular activities. Eligible students can apply to any of the UCSI diploma/degree programmes except the following:

1. Medicine
2. Pharmacy
3. Nursing
4. 3D Animation Design
5. Architectural Technology and Interior Architecture

Conditions for Application:

1. Must be Malaysian and full time student
2. Must qualify to gain admission to UCSI
3. Eligible candidate must fill up the UCSI Scholarship form and attach with certified copies of results and other relevant documents as stated in the form.
4. Forecast results are acceptable conditionally; award of scholarship will depend on actual results
5. Minimum academic requirements for application:
bullet SPM - minimum 7As for relevant subjects, English B3 or better
bullet UEC - 4B3, 1B4 with an aggregate of 16 or better, one of them must be English
bullet A-Levels - 24 points and above (best 3 subjects)
bullet STPM - 3Bs and above (best 3 subjects)
bullet SAM - >80% (aggregate) or TER/UAI > 85%
bullet CPU - >85% (aggregate)
6. Active in extra-curricular activities and financial deserving
7. All scholarship awards are limited to tuition fee only
8. Must NOT be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or rewards from other educational institutions or organizations
9. Must help in the Student Affairs Office for not more than 5 hours per week
10. Successful applicants shall maintain a minimum of GPA 3.0 or 65% per subject per semester
11. For music scholarship only : 1) minimum grade 7 in both theory and practical in music and 2) pass the audition
12. Closing date: Completed applications must reach UCSI by 31 March 2008.


3. A- Levels Scholarship

Conditions for Application:

1. Must be Malaysian and full time students
2. SPM 2006 school leavers
3. A - Levels scholarship is automatic if students meet the above criteria (still need to complete the UCSI Scholarship form)
4. The A-Levels scholarship is awarded based on the number of A1s the applicant achieved
5. Only actual results are acceptable for scholarship
6. Must not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or rewards from other educational institutions or organizations.
7. All scholarships awards are limited to tuition fee only
8. Closing date: Completed applications must reach UCSI by 25 January 2008 (Jan intake), 09 May 2008 (May intake), 25 July 2008 (July intake)


4. Star Education Fund

Eligible students can apply to the STAR Education Fund for the following programmes:

1. B.A (Hons.) Business Administration
2. B.Sc (Hons) Computing
3. B.Sc (Hons) Business Information Systems
4. B.Eng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering
5. B. Eng (Hons) Communication & Electronic Engineering
6. B.Eng (Hons) Mechatronic Engineering
7. B.A (Hons) Psychology
8. B.Sc (Hons) Food Science & Nutrition
9. B. Music (Hons) Classical
10. B. Music (Hons) Contemporary

3. Applicants must qualify to gain admission to UCSI
4. Minimum academic requirements:

bullet UEC - 5B3, 1B4 with an aggregate of 15 or better inclusive English
bullet A-Levels - 24 points and above (best 3 subjects)

8. Applications must abide by the terms and conditions of the UCSI Scholarship Programme

5. Sin Chew Daily Scholarship Awards

Eligible students can apply to the Sin Chew Daily Scholarship for the following programmes:
