UCSI UNIVERSITY CLINCHES BRANDLAUREATE AWARD FOR TERTIARY EDUCATION

Kuala Lumpur, 8 January 2009 - After having received its university status, UCSI University added another feather in its cap by clinching the BrandLaurate Award for Best Brand in Education (Tertiary Category) at the recent BrandLaureate – SMEs Chapter Awards 2008 ceremony. The award was presented to UCSI University’s Group President and Vice Chancellor, Peter T. S. Ng by the Malaysian Second Finance Minister, Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop.

Commenting on the win, Group President and Vice Chancellor Peter Ng said that the award will spur UCSI University to continue building on its brand despite the challenging times faced by the industry. He also said that UCSI University will continue to innovate and creatively  pursue “blue oceans” in tertiary education.

The BrandLaureate is the Grammy awards of branding, giving recognition for branding excellence and is organized by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation.

More than 600 nominations were received for these awards in 2008. The nominations were judged according to how the companies planned their brand strategy/identity, developed the brand culture, integrated their brand communication and increased brand profitability or performance.
