    Did you know .....

  • The Co-Op at UCSI is implemented to formally integrate classroom learning with workplace training in Co-Op employer organization.
  • Part of meeting degree/diploma requirements, students under the UCSI programmes are required to complete a Co-Op module, comprising two months' work experience in each academic year.
  • Each Co-Op module is worth three Credits and students receive a grade for it based on a written assignment and employer's evaluation upon completion of each Co-Op module.

Register for Co-Op - where do I begin?

  • Course selection for Co-Op, approved by the Co-Op supervisor and payment of necessary fee(s).
  • Login to myCo-Op using your Student ID and eAdvantage Password.
  • Submission of your online Co-Op Job Application Form (CV) to CECS.
  • Submission of certified true hardcopies of supporting documents (eg. transcript, letters of reference, etc) to CECS.

      Academic Pre-requisites for Co-Op

  • Taken at least 80% of coursework in each Year/Level.
  • A minimum cumulative overall average (CGPA) of 2.0 (ie. 50-59%) at the end of each academic session. [NB: Most employers require a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (65%) or more].
  • A student who has not met the academic pre-requisites is not eligible for the Co-Op of the session and has to defer a particular Co-Op term to the following year when academic pre-requisites are met.

     Non-academic Pre-requisites for Co-Op

  • Course selection for Co-Op, approved by the Co-Op supervisor and payment of necessary fee(s).
  • Registration with CECS by completing and submitting the online Co-Op Job Application Form (CV).
  • Submission of certified true hardcopies of supporting documents (eg. transcripts, letters of reference etc) to CECS.
  • Attendance at and successful completion of Co-Op workshops organised by CECS/UCSI.
  • Requirements that employers may impose on students, eg: pre-employment and/or during employment screenings, including physical examination/medical check-up, criminal record checks and drug testing. Failure to participate in, complete or pass these types of qualifying screening may impact students eligibility and/or opportunity for Co-Op positions.
