The Student Development & Counselling Unit (SDCU) is
organizing its first-ever Freshman Camp at UCSI University
this coming May at the OUTBAC @ Broga Adventure Camp, Semenyih!
Have you ever experienced hiking at Broga Hill to enjoy
its breathtaking scenery with your friends? Have you ever
danced around a campfire and sang songs? This is it! Join
us for a weekend getaway with the UCSI University Seniors
and Freshmen to begin your university student life with
a blast!
Aimed at bringing seniors and juniors together, SDCU would
like to facilitate the new students’ adjustment to life
at the University through some social networking and experiential
learning activities. Team building activities are also included
to further improve communication among the participants.
Thus, the two days-one night Camp is the platform for both
UCSI University seniors and freshmen (international or local),
to interact and learn more about University Life, and its
academic and cultural settings. Moreover, it will also be
a great opportunity for students to appreciate and embrace
Mother Nature, away from the hustle bustle of city life.
Students might ask, what are the fun and challenging camp
activities? This includes building a raft, a campfire, kayak
relays, flying foxes, and rock climbing. Hiking Broga Hill
will be the highlight of the Camp as we watch the sunrise
on the last day of the Camp! Apart from the physical activities,
the Camp also conducts customized workshops to assist Freshmen
get through their University adjustments and to know more
Seniors.
So, who are Freshmen or Seniors, you ask? Well, Freshmen
are those who are currently studying for three semesters
or less at the University, while Seniors are those who have
studied at the University for more than three semesters,
from the Foundation Studies, Degree, or A-levels courses.
Once again, we would like to welcome all UCSI University
Freshmen to join in and “bang” with us in this Camp to know
more about life at the University! The recruitment drive
for this Camp is currently on-going and will be formally
introduced during the coming Orientation. We would also
like to welcome Seniors to quickly sign up with us as seats
are limited.
