University of Wolverhampton Students thank UCSI University

UCSIU provides students with a sound introduction to the higher education system, making the transition to the UK a lot easier

Mr. Prances said that the international atmosphere at UCSIU also prepared him for his stint abroad

Going abroad can be a daunting experience if one has not been exposed to the international environment beforehand. Homesickness, peer pressure and other problems faced by a student studying at a university may be magnified ten-fold in a new country where things are less familiar.

However, UCSI University students who are currently pursuing their higher education at the University of Wolverhampton face no such problems. Two students, Ms. Low Wan Li and Mr. Johannes Kumar Prances both had their UCSI University experience before deciding to complete their final year in the United Kingdom. According to Ms. Low, her initial encounter with UCSI University’s curriculum was enlightening. “I liked the many diverse subjects offered in my course, and this provided me the stable foundation to base my specialising choices when I wanted to apply to the universities abroad,” she says.

Mr. Prances concurred, and said that the courses he had taken at UCSI University became the basis for him to pursue his dreams which opened gateways for his study abroad. “I have had a lot of memorable moments at UCSI University: from studying the hours away in the library, or simply catching up with friends at the cafeteria. My memories of UCSI University are still fresh in my mind, and will certainly be cherished always,” he says.

The international atmosphere at UCSIU also prepared them for their stint abroad. “I had the opportunity to socialize and be friends with people from all around the world at UCSIU. It helped me a lot in adapting to the community here in UK,” Mr. Prances says. Ms. Low also attests to this, saying that UCSIU provided her with a sound introduction to the higher education system, making her transition to the UK a lot easier. “I also received great support from the staff at UCSIU who helped me with the necessary transfer arrangements, thereby making my dreams to study in UK a possibility.” Mr. Prances also agrees with this. “The lecturers, administrative staff and even the security personnel at UCSIU, were helpful in many ways. Simple enquiries cleared doubts, and they were friendly and more than willing to help.”

Both Mr. Prances and Ms. Low are currently pursuing their postgraduate degrees at the University of Wolverhampton. Mr. Prances is doing his MSc in Environmental Technology while Ms. Low who is pursuing her Ph. D at UCSI University will soon be applying for the University of Wolverhampton’s scholarship. They hope that current students at UCSIU will make the most of their higher education experience here. “Reach out for the best, and don’t stop in your pursuit for knowledge!”
